These beautiful wooden Dealgan’s are hand turned especially for us by Brian Case here in Orkney. Each pieces is loving sanded numerous times and polished to a high gloss finish. The result is a tactile and unique spindle that can be used and enjoyed for years to come. Modern spinners are rediscovering the traditional Scottish spindle, believed lost for generations. With its whorl-less, cone-shaped body and crossing grooves cut into the bottom, the Scottish spindle, also called a dealgan (pronounced jal-a-gen is as strong, practical, and dependable as the culture that created it.
